Students in financial need

Continuing education is a major investment for our students; not only is it a crucial step for their professional career, future and self-development, but also financially it has a huge impact.

Studying costs money; registration fees, school materials, a computer, cooperation, the rent of a student room, etc... The costs can quickly add up. 

Not every student can get the financial 'push' from home. Many of them still have to earn extra income in addition to their studies to make ends meet. 

The Antwerp University Fund, Team Diversity and the Study-oriented Services of UAntwerp are working together to help students in financial need!


Although the corona era is now largely behind us, the consequences of the many measures and lockdowns can be felt enormously in daily life.

Our students are also having a hard time during the past corona times. Read their testimonials here.

More and more financial problems are problems due to the corona measures and for some of them financial problems are still not over. For example, due to the lockdowns, they (temporarily) lost their student job and it was difficult for them to pay for their room or other study-related costs.

Here's how you can contribute:

  • You can contribute as a company or as a private individual.
  • Make a donation and follow the steps below. By the way, did you know that you are entitled to a tax reduction of 45% for donations from 40 euros? We will provide you with a tax certificate for this. An extra incentive to give our students maximum support.

Step 1 - Donation

There are two ways to donate:

  • By bank transfer to bank account number BE42 7310 4624 7854 in the name of 'Universiteit Antwerpen'. Be sure to mention 'fiscaal attest' (tax certificate) and your preferred destination, in this case 'students in need',  in the communication field.
  • By online payment where you can immediately indicate your preferred destination by selecting 'other' under 'Choose your project'. Afterwards you will be given the opportunity to fill in the project 'students in need' manually.

Step 2 - Donation form

In order to allocate your donation correctly, we recommend you to also send us the donation form where you indicate your preference for the destination of the amount again.

The completed form can be posted to Universiteitsfonds Antwerpen - Middelheimlaan 1 M.A.223 - 2020 Antwerpen, or you can simply scan or even photograph it, and email it to This way, the University Fund can allocate your donation correctly.
