What are the potential and limits of human rights for development? What is the added value of children’s rights’ approaches to global problems such as poverty, environmental challenges, armed conflict and migration? These are some of the questions that were be addressed in the HR4DEV course, from a critical and interdisciplinary perspective.
The training programme consisted of a general part (two weeks on human rights and development), and a thematic part (two weeks on children's rights and globalization). It targeted 'leaders of the future' in practice, policy and academia, from South and North.
HR4DEV is a joint initiative of two Flemish interuniversity partnerships: the Flemish Interuniversity Research Network on Law and Development (LAW&DEV) and the Children's Rights Knowledge Centre (KeKi), in cooperation with the Institute of Development Policy and Management (University of Antwerp).
