Cross-talk between immune system and neuroregeneration
Unveiling the Power of T Cells: Harnessing Immunity for Neuroregeneration and Beyond!

Join us for an exciting session where we'll uncover the connection between the immune system and neuroregeneration. This session will dive into the important roles of different immune cells, especially T cells, in the restoration of the central nervous system (CNS). We’ll also learn how these cells can be strategically targeted for therapeutic breakthroughs in treating traumatic brain injury and neuroinflammatory disorders.

Our main speaker, Prof. Emanuela Pasciuto (VIB Pasciuto Lab at the University of Antwerp) will be sharing her fascinating discoveries on the impact of brain gene therapy using AAV on brain-resident regulatory T cell populations, offering novel avenues for tackling neuroinflammation.

Our host, Jasper Van den Bos (from Prof. Nathalie Cools’ lab, FGGW) will present his latest findings on modifying regulatory T cells for cell-based therapy to induce neuroprotective and anti-inflammatory effects in conditions such as multiple sclerosis and other neurodegenerative diseases.

Mark your calendars and spread the word among peers, researchers, clinicians and students across faculties and groups.

Prepare yourself for a series of seminars (Oct 13, Nov 10, Dec 8) that promises not only informative presentations but also engaging discussions.

Supported by FGGW & Antwerp Doctoral School’s “Omkadering Jonge Onderzoekers”.
