Favourite (interior) architecture project

On the wasteland of the Pas-de-Calais basin (France), Japanese studio SANAA brings an ode to the former coal mining region where nature is given back its space. Its timeless design for the museum Louvre-Lens cultivates seamless transitions between landscape and interior. An interplay of color and light echoes the seasonal surroundings to exhibit both inwardly and outwardly its industrial and art heritage to locals and visitors. By extension, the Belgian dance ensemble Rosas performed in situ a chapter of their Dark Red series, a (research) project rooted in body breathing.
