Content

During your PhD trajectory, you develop much more than research expertise. You build a broad professional profile, focusing on competencies that are valuable both within and beyond academia.

In this highly interactive one-day workshop, the Antwerp Doctoral School and the Talent Center combine their expertise to help you design your Personal Development Plan:

  • You will reflect on your strengths, challenges, competencies, and professional goals, starting from your current PhD trajectory and your future professional ambitions.
  • Using the ADS competence profile, a SC(W)OT analysis and the SMART methodology, you will translate your reflections into concrete development goals and a realistic action plan.
  • Throughout the day, you will work individually and in small groups. You will exchange ideas, receive feedback, and challenge each other to sharpen your goals and actions.
  • By the end of the workshop, you will have drafted your own Personal Development Plan, including goals, actions, resources, timing, possible roadblocks and a plan B.

This growth- and future-oriented workshop is designed for PhD researchers who want to take ownership of their development and make more conscious choices about their PhD and future professional journey.
